Widow Related Movie - In Lieu of Flowers
« on: March 21, 2015, 04:12:27 PM »
Quite by accident, I stumbled on this movie on Amazon Prime Video. Its a fictional story of a man and woman meeting - both who are grieving from different losses. It was a decent movie and what resonated with me in particular was the portrayal of the widow. In one scene, she mentions that she doesn't want her husband's death to define her. She also noted (and I have said something similar) that she goes through periods of starting to feel better but then the grief comes back - and she wonders why she cant just feel better, will it ever go away? Her father notes that the grief may not go away but over time it will be different. Movie was sad but happy as well so glad I watched it.

I enjoyed that movie too.  Check out this You-Tube clip of them being interviwed

The whole clip is interesting, but if you're short for time go to 4:16 for the start of her portion of the interview-  it's amazing how different she comes across 'live'
