  1. Hugs to you all. I also struggled with my faith after my husband died. I was angry too, but then it appeared God put so many things in place to make sure my two young children and I were not completely destroyed by his death. We are immigrants and he was the only adult family member I had in the US. And so while I ask why he didn't prevent his death, I couldn't also overlook the many ways He helped us. It's all so confusing.
  2. I am so sorry you are experiencing this pain too AZ. I guess I can say welcome to the site Drafter. I am pretty new here too. I have been lurking and reading for the past three months. I Lost my DH 5 months ago to primary liver cancer that metastasized to the lungs. We have two children ages 7 and 4. It has not been easy but we are taking it one day at a time. I haven't been able to do a one on one counseling either, partly because I am a therapist myself and so a bit picky, and partly due to insurance difficulties. I found others here have gone through some of my issues as well and so many of my questions have been answered on this board by reading what others have asked. Its been so comforting reading the messages here and I hope you find some comfort as well.
  3. One reason I am told why it is important to go sooner is that they may not pay benefit retroactively. In many cases, benefits start on the day you apply so if you wait 6 months, you may have denied yourself or children six months of benefits. With that said, I have still not gone to see them personally because emotionally I am still a wreck.
  4. I am Nella and new here. My husband of 9 years was diagnosed in November 2016 with Liver Cancer and was gone by February. I am left with two girls ages 4 and 7 and have no adult family member in this country. I realized I was feeling worse as the weeks go by instead of better, but reading the posts here helped me understand it is very common to feel worse. Taking it a day at a time.
