Zoom, WhatsApp, phone, email, text.....but not allowed a hug. Trying to keep busy but missing the contact more and more. GF is high risk and not going to see each other for a while. Can't even watch manage to watch a Netflix episode together. Coping OK. Just so thankful we are both OK while so many others aren't and more are on the front line and putting themselves at risk. Making a noise at 7pm each day to show appreciation

Thanks Maureen. I'm Jeff and widowed in 2013 raising two girls who are still at school. The YWBB was a safe place for me to share with a community that "got it". I am not a frequent visitor or poster anymore since we moved sites, but like to check in every now and then. I miss the live chat regulars and Missing Squish and NMQP, who were in my cohort of young widows.

But you will be there for some part of it and that means a lot

Today has been preying on my mind more and more in the lead up to the day. It wasn't so bad. We have a house full of friends and family so party of 8 went to visit a museum, then we had a BBQ with neighbors, party of 16. I was distracted/preoccupied but everything went pretty smoothly. Lots of kids enjoying themselves. Been thinking of DW and GF a lot. This week more DW, usually more GF. Long distance relationships are tough. Realized today that what I would really like is to come home to GF. Been thinking about it alot. We will see if happens, won't be easy, or quick.
