While we can't make it up this weekend, I've made life long friends at these gatherings and after I got over the hurdle of going to my first one ( and yes, I sat in the parking lot thinking, "WHAT am I doing walking in here to meet STRANGERS?!"), I found a kind of camaraderie that had been seriously lacking in my first 6 lonely months of widowed life and was astounded that I even laughed, a real and true laugh about the kinds of things only widows can find funny. Plus, Karen knows her pizza....and I can vouch for these lovely people as well. We'll try to host something in the New Year. Love from the Lehigh Valley! We got tickets to go to the Tenement Museum at 3:30 (where we had our first date, awwwww and it is time to take M there now) so we'll meet you all before hand.
