KrypticKat
I learned from a very wise widow there are 4 things needed to process grief: community (support), story telling (talking about it), sound and movement. I find music is great for those tough moments. Sometimes it's songs about loss, frustration or songs that remind me of him. What songs do you find helpful? For me some I like are: Good Grief- Bastille Son of a Bitch- Nathaniel and the Night Sweats I'm Gonna Love You- Meghan Trainor Whose Gonna Kiss You When I'm Gone- John Legend Wish You Were Here- Pink Floyd Fix You- The Off Spring

Catnip
Now and Forever -Carole King Now and forever, you are a part of me And the memory cuts like a knife Didn't we find the ecstasy, didn't we share the daylight When you walked into my life Now and forever, I'll remember All the promises still unbroken And think about all the words between us That never needed to be spoken We had a moment, just one moment That will last beyond a dream, beyond a lifetime We are the lucky ones Some people never get to do all we got to do Now and forever, I will always think of you Didn't we come together, didn't we live together Didn't we cry together Didn't we play together, didn't we love together And together we lit up the world I miss the tears, I miss the laughter I miss the day we met and all that followed after Sometimes I wish I could always be with you The way we used to do Now and forever, I will always think of you Now and forever, I will always be with you

KrypticKat
Another good show tune is For Good from wicked. I know it's two sister friends singing about their relationship but I resonate with it because my husband changed me with his love and being a part of my life. <
Monique
I heard this one today and completely lost it... Heart beats fast Colors and promises How to be brave How can I love when I'm afraid to fall But watching you stand alone All of my doubt, suddenly goes away somehow One step closer I have died everyday, waiting for you Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years I'll love you for a thousand more Time stands still Beauty in all she is I will be brave I will not let anything, take away What's standing in front of me Every breath, every hour has come to this One step closer I have died everyday, waiting for you Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years I'll love you for a thousand more And all along I believed, I would find you Time has brought your heart to me, I have loved you for a thousand years I'll love you for a thousand more One step closer One step closer I have died everyday, waiting for you Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years I'll love you for a thousand more And all along I believed, I would find you Time has brought your heart to me, I have loved you for a thousand years I'll love you for a thousand more

KrypticKat
Just found this great artist on the east coast of Canada named Christine Campbell. Her new album is a great grief soundtrack. I particularly love the songs Butterfly and Nobody Cares. Worth a listen.
Sweetpea83
I found a song by Brett Eldridge that makes me cry is "Go on Without Me". Had the CD for a year and never noticed it (was the last song so I probably turned the CD off by then). It's a tear-jerker, but a good one. I also like: Midnight Rider- Allman Brothers Free Bird- Lynyrd Skynyrd Can't Always get What you Want- Rolling Stones Wild Horses- Rolling Stones
HCE
Here are my guaranteed tear-jerkers. (LISTENER ADVISORY: Some of these tunes fall into the old-timey / country category and may prove offensive to musically sophisticated widdas.) 'It Makes No Difference' by the Band 'Your Lone Journey' by Doc & Rosa Lee Watson 'For Ever, For Always, For Certain' by Richard Dobson 'Six More Miles' by Hank Williams 'Haunt Me' by Aurora Birch 'Walls of Time' by Ricky Skaggs
