Euf Posted February 1, 2019 Mary Oliver died in January. She is a poet and I guess she has nothing to do with being widowed. Except that for me, she does. She is about hope and seeing the future and grabbing on to life. If you like these poems, look for more of hers. Or more of anyone's. I believe in the power of words. 1 Share this post Link to post
Leadfeather Posted February 2, 2019 I read some of her poems last night and they are really good. Thank you for suggesting her. 1 Share this post Link to post
Bunny Posted February 3, 2019 I discovered Mary Oliver in widowhood, when someone on the ywbb posted her poem ‘The Uses of Sorrow’. It affected me profoundly, and caused me to search out even more of her poetry. I love her style. Also- she, herself, was widowed in 2005 -when her partner of over 40 years died. Molly Malone Cook. They met at Edna St. Vincent Millay’s house- how awesome is that? 1 Share this post Link to post
