Too late... Car accident widow here and while I never had to make the impossible choice t remove care, the police did show up on my door.  Nothing like a one hour trigger.  On a side note, still can't believe they did that.

I am obsessed with sleeping on clean sheets. I went to London with some friends, left on Wednesday got home Monday. DH washed the sheets Sunday and then slept on the couch Sunday nite so I could be the first one to climb into the clean sheets when I got home on Monday. After four nites in a hostel, it was an amazing surprise!!!!

With a five and two year old, coloring, painting, puzzles all can be relaxing. I also would like to add Play doh and Lego building can also be a good stress relief.

My son is 2 and half but is showing all the signs he is ready to start. He constantly goes "potty" which entails him sitting on the toilet, fully clothed, throwing tp in the toilet and flushing. he has yet to do any business in the toilet. I would appreciate any tips or tricks from those of you that have trained boys.... Also, how did you know they were ready. I don't want to push him, but a life without diapers would be amazing!

My daughter is also 5.. DH died two years ago. She will throw out "I miss Daddy," "I wish Daddy could be with me", "I wish Daddy would see our house" and so forth. She does domit at nite to stall sometimes, but that is usually, tell me a story about daddy. Kids are so much smarter than we give them credit for.

I agree this solo parenting is so f-ing hard. My frustration with her is just temper tantrums, yelling back and at me, sassy talk, etc....what most view as normal kid stuff but I always have to wonder if it's normal kid behavior or a way she is dealing with frustration from not understanding why her dad isn't here.
