  1. Rob, I wish I still had him too, thank you.... I am thankful they are now 10 years old (will be 11 next month), and I did have him through all the really hard years. Although, the teen years will not be a breeze, I am sure!

Twins are just as busy as triplets though:)  My sister has twins that are 3 months younger than my kiddo's, so I watched her in action. Her twins were actually more work than my group!

Non sequitor, but ... triplets?  Wow.  I have twins, and we were in a multiples club and so we knew parents of triplets, and we were always impressed since that was more kids than parents, and more kids than hands :-)  Hats off for handling this alone - I wish you still had your husband's help (hugs).

    Take care,

    Rob T

  2. When my now 22 year old daughter was 3, my dad died.  I was so close to my dad and devasted.  We never really went to church when she was young, and we never talked about death and dying.

On the day of the funeral, my daughter and I went up to the casket before everyone arrived to say "good-bye" to him in peace.

I bent over and kissed him, then asked my daughter if she wanted to say good-bye to papa.  She looked at him and looked and me. She gently took my hand and said: Mama, that is not papa. That's just the body he lived in.  Papa is home now...

That moment truly changed my life and how I see things.

  3. My triplets are 10, and so far not much of a social life for me.  I do plan on getting out once fall rolls around, and start doing things I am interested in.  I am looking for a babysitter that I could use, when I am ready.  Both of my parents are gone, and my in-laws live far away.

I think having a friend he could stay with would be a great option for you.  With him being 16, his social life will be picking up soon:)

  4. My son is on his 3rd set of tubes and they have made a world of difference!  He had his first in kindergarten, second set in 2nd grade, and third set last summer. (Most kids do not need them this long, but he does). The procedure is fast and they are not in any pain afterwards. He has not had 1 infection since kindergarten, whereas before he had them all the time.  I know it is nerve racking, hugs to you mama:)

  5. I have 9 year old triplets, 2 girls and 1 boy, and they all react differently.  My son is the one who has the most difficult time with my husbands death.  He cries more often then the girls, and lasts a lot longer.  I know sometimes he does it to manipulate me, but the majority of the time, he is sincere.  We will hit our 1 year anniversary in April.  I have let a lot slide this first year, but will start addressing the manipulating outburst after April.

Yes, it sucks having to do all of this as solo parents, no doubt about that one.
