  1. I am nearing two year mark since my husband died. I had my first date this weekend and it went much better than I expected, although the nerves were still there. I’m hoping for a second date, but two questions come to mind as I patrol this new water... 1) when do you tell the person you’re dating that you are widowed? I don’t want to just blurt it out, but I do want want to be open about it. 2) when do you tell your former spouses parents you’re dating? I have a great relationship with my in-laws, but I know that whenever I do tell them, it will be very hard on them. I know they’ll be supportive, but I believe they’ll still struggle with it. Thoughts?
  2. I’m curious to hear from widows/widowers... when you decided to start dating again, how soon did you tell the new person you were widowed? And how soon did you tell the family of your former spouse?
  3. I’m curious... how long did you wait to start dating after losing your spouse? I know everyone is different, and everyone’s grief is different, but I have started thinking about my future, and how I’ll learn to date again one day. It’ll be a year since my husband died in November. What “signs” in your life did you notice that told you you were ready?
  4. We were just starting tocolan a family. I loved the name Cavanaugh for a girl but he did not (which was fine :)) we eventually came up with Nora Grace for a girl, and never did come up wit her a boys name.
