  1. My finance's wife passed away 2 years ago and we have not told any of our children about our plans to blend our families yet. I was running errands with one of his and one of mine (both almost 4yrs old) and they were talking amongst themselves about the fact that her mom died, and then his turned to me and asked me to be her new mom. My daughter lovingly jumped in and said yes and that she would share her mom with her. I gave his a big hug and told her I loved her, but didn't know how to answer. My heart wanted to shout "YES! I would love to be your new mom!" Anyone have any thoughts or experiences they can share on how to address this, especially at this age? What is the right thing to say that will express that I will be the mom in the house and I will love them as my own, but that "mommy" is still their mom too?
