  1. We are up to 100 people migrated over already. I am so impressed with , proud of and grateful for our admins Jess and Justin!!!!

Thank you, @LisaPop - and we are quite proud and grateful for you! Thank you for being such an active mod.

Fellows wids: Lisa is very, very busy behind the scenes  :)

  2. I haven't encountered any people in the Phoenix area. Would love to meet some locals  :D

I'm in the Phoenix area. :)

I will be in the Phoenix area the week of April 5. Maybe we could all do lunch or dinner during that time?  :)

  3. I belong to some widows groups on Facebook and several people are asking about the new site. Would it be okay to do a general post pointing folks in this direction or would you prefer that we message people privately?

At this point, I think that it would be best to privately message those wids that you trust. We have been doing our best to activate all new accounts and are in the process of determining which portions will be visible to non-members. Once we get everything set into place, I think a general post will be just fine.

    Thank you!

  4. I'm of a mixed mind. I have 116 pages of posts over there, and I thought about saving some, but it seems logistically and emotionally daunting.

It seems that way for me, too. I did export all PM's to my email, but I am just not up to trying to archive all of my own posts.

Ironically, I have now learned to let go more easily of "things" in the wake of Marsha's death. I feel the same about my posts on a personal level. I just hate to lose the collective community knowledge of YWBB.

  5. Here is how you may change the individual appearance of themes on this site:

Thought I'd pass along this info that bluebird sent to me if the background makes it hard to read.  I posted it on another thread, but figured more people would see it on a new thread:

Go to profile, account settings, modify account settings, select modify profile, look and layout...select the curve theme....the public display will stilll be black/grey, but your logged in view will be easier to read.

  6. I had posted this photo essay a few months ago on YWBB. Photographer Marc Davidson created photo sculptures in remembrance of his wife Sylvia, who lost her battle with depression.

I remember viewing this essay on my lunch break when it was first published, and being so moved that I viewed it again with DW when I got home from work that evening.

  7. Mark, while I am not in the same exact circumstance (DD was 15 when her mother died), I will say that it hard to differentiate behavior stemming from grief from just the regular ol' shit kids/teens do. I do remember that around 4 or 5 DD realized that she could start manipulations  :)
