Last year when we went away, my son said he's so tired of there always being that empty 4th chair where his Dad should be. It was so honestly raw, it broke my heart. Guest TooSoon Posted April 7, 2016 Share Posted April 7, 2016 I had to stop taking my daughter down to the shore alone and felt horribly guilty about it as we've always gone and gone often all year, every year since she was an infant. It was always our home away from home. But all of those families and the constant presence of his absence was too much those first years. I could probably swing it now but I still try only to go with friends or when I know friends will also be down. I hope you do have fun! My daughter loves that place!
