Guest Lost35
I miss him every day. Today it's really bad for some reason. I was down in the Harbour near the planes and spotted a sepia photo of old bush pilots, smiling madly from ear to ear and it just hit home how much I miss him. I wish I could tell him how much I love him still. I wish he knew our son. I wish he would come home. Just having a hard day and needed to get it out somehow. Thanks for listening. -L. Bluebird
Lost35, I'm sorry you're having a hard day - those wishes are heartbreaking. It's amazing isn't it how seeing something like that sepia photo in a place that almost vibrates with its familiarity can plunge us into sadness? Hoping that a new day brings you a little less sadness. Take care, Bluebird
ATJ
(((Lost))) I heard your cry of pain. And, yes, the missing never seems to go away! Several years ago I wrote a poem, perhaps it will resonate with you: "The Heart won't forget" The heart won't forget Neither the love nor the pain It always keeps track Of that which matters -- Nothing can ever erase The ones we have loved It's written inside With an indelible seal And can't be wiped out Now and forever With each pulse and each beat It brings them along They're always a part Wherever life takes us They walk at our side Our love shall remain Unto ages of ages Two souls intertwined Now and forever Belonging to each other Until time stands still ~~~~~~~~ May Peace and Comfort embrace your wounded heart! Guest Lost35
Thank you, BlueBird, and thank you, A Tout Jamais (your poem is very beautiful and perfect for the day). Joni Mitchel was our daily sound-track. I see on the news she suffered a medical emergency today and I am hoping she will recover. That is very sad news. I ended up having a huge chicken crisis this afternoon, that included a moment where I found myself face to face with a cashier at a Drug Store, standing over a giant pair of rubber gloves and huge tube of Preparation H. (No more details given). If the morning hadn't been so difficult, I might have been embarrassed. As it was, I didn't really care... Chicken ended up not making it and my son and I ended up literally running around the countryside to find someone to help in the end. It was a hard enough afternoon to make me forget about the morning, a bit, but at least I met some really kind and caring people today. My neighbour was over to find out how things ended, noticed I had broken my French Press, and ran back with a little percolator. So, first thing tomorrow, I'm going to make some espresso and try to start the day off in a better way than today. My heart hurts. Tomorrow is a new day... Losttogether
Sorry you are having a rough time. All things airplane make me sad too. I've been missing Bill a lot. We had a crap week also, lost our 1 year old cat to a disease he's vaccinated against. Poor kids are so sad. Hopefully our guys are flying together somewhere. N43EM
I wish I could tell him how much I love him still. I wish he knew our son. I wish he would come home. Oh yes, that longing. I feel it too. Its funny what affects us. Pictures, places, sounds. My husband died in his airplane, but when I hear a little plane overhead its a happy sound for me. But the sight of a dad with a little girl, or old couples holding hands, or the bike rack where he used to park his bike, they tear me apart. I hope you are feeling a little better than the day you wrote the post.
Guest Lost35
Thank you, N43EM. I'm not sure what is bringing this on. It's lingering, but manageable as long as I don't sit and think about any of it. -L.
