Laurel

It's been a loooong time since I posted, in fact I think it was on the old board. My name there was Laurel and my now-husband's username was Kurt. Our spouses, Nick and Suzy, both died in 2005. We met in late 2006 and got married in 2008. Our daughter was born in 2008 and our son was born in 2011.

My name is Laurel. My DH, Nick, died in June of 2005 from SUDEP - Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy. I was a member of YWBB, but it had been quite a while since I posted anything. I only found out the board shut down because I was double checking the link so I could pass it on to a new widow. I'm glad I found this new board to pass on to her instead. I'm now remarried to a widower (Kurt) I met at a YWBB Bago and we have two beautiful kids who are now 6 & 4.

This is my first post here, but I was a member at YWBB if anyone remembers me. My DH and I are both widowed and had no kids with our late spouses. We now have two kids together. There are a few pictures of Suzy and Nick around the house and when we talk about them with the kids, we call them Aunt Suzy and Uncle Nick. They've met Suzy's mom and sister and Nick's parents and brothers. I think it's just their version of normal. They're six and four right now, so I'm sure they'll have more questions as they get older and we'll have to deal with those on an age-appropriate basis as they come up.
