paulrb02
Just found this site the other day. Its so nice to read posts from other young widows. I am trying to catch up on all the jargon here, but I still haven't figured out if WIDDA is a acroynm or jsut a crazy word. Can anyone tell me where the name comes from? Wheelerswife
I think it is just a slangish word for widow. We sometimes refer to ourselves as widdas. I think the webmaster here, Lewis, might have been the one to design the logo, initially for a summer bago (get together) that was held for many years in Missouri. Can we confuse you with more jargon? Ask away! And welcome to the board.... Maureen
Lewis
Yes, Widda is slang for widow/er. Maureen is correct as it was derived at one of our bagos in Missouri along with the idea for the logo. By the time this website came about I already had the logo, so I registered the domain name. It worked out pretty nicely. I am glad to hear that the site is helpful to you. I hope it helps you as much as it did me. Lewis
jgib
Urban dictionary defines Widda as: 1.a true gangster. 2.A lover of rap music. 3.A rebel without a cause. 4.A loose cannon I am not a lover of rap music but since losing DH I think the other certainly could have defined me through my journey so far.
