blue
My mother's opinion on my one year of widowhood.... “You need to get out there and find a partner now because otherwise you’re going to be alone for the rest of your life” Thanks mom
Lisa
As outrageous as that statement is, it is quite popular. Im sorry.
jeff1973
Yeah, at 1 year out, Thanks Mom. I'm so sorry blue. They just don't get it. You're not replacing a car. Happy Mothers to you and all the Widow Moms out there. Jeff1973

JeanGenie
Wow.... Yeah "thanks Mom"! Sorry Blue...as others have said, they just don't get it. I can't tell if she's totally clueless or just cares and doesn't want you to be alone. Either way, it doesn't matter...not a helpful comment at all. Virgo
Some thoughts just shouldn't be verbalized. I'm sorry.
Tatianakm
Some thoughts just shouldn't be verbalized. I'm sorry. Absolutely! My mom's comment on me visiting cemetery: "...you should spend more time with the living not with the dead". On me going to the local young widow support group: "... I think you're making it worse- you are just reminding yourself of his death, making it so much harder to move on". What can one say to that? Just because I stopped sobbing spontaneously at dinner table, doesn't mean that I forgot. I so wish she could filter or just not say anything at all. Guest TalksToAngels
Mine was, you'll be the loneliest person in the graveyard. From a friend, not my Mom though. My response was graveyards are quite popular. Everyone's dying to get in : /
