{Hug} skipd, I'm sorry you lost your wife and the children are without their mother. I can't offer any insight on grieving while nurturing children but know Widda.org has a young parents with children forum. Finding this community has been a big help to me on this journey and sure they will be to you as well.

{Hugs} Helena, I'm sorry you have lost your husband Axel. It's a terrible loss for your children. I've found a lot of support here at Widda and don't know where I would be without this group.

{Hugs}. Sorry you're dealing with these flashbacks. The worst one I experienced was the night I had to take a friend to the ER where my wife was DOA. I tried going outside for relief only to see an ambulance roll in with a patient, which was a replay of when I saw the Paramedics unloading my wife with a fireman performing CPR. Those vivid memories are brutal and we never know when they might hit us.  :'(

The 6 month mark was the middle of March, a time when she would've been up to her elbows in potting soil. Lettuce and radishes were already in the ground but I didn't even try to start any plants. I wasn't taking good care of things that were important so it didn't make sense to create more responsibility. It was good to have Spring coming to ease the sadness.

Blessed with mom, kids and grandkids nearby and will spend some time with all of them. It will be great to get out of this damn gloomy, empty house.

I'm sorry you and your co-workers were blind sided for Christmas and to cover for being short staffed after the umbrella would be a real moral booster -NOT!

Some days I think of a line from Bob Dylan's song My Back Pages "Ah, I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now." Life has a way of rearranging priorities and such.

Maureen, I'll offer positive thoughts. As widdas we also get to deal with the swirl of emotions that tag along with the Holiday season, as though we need a melancholy reality check  :-\

Miss hugging her, hugging family and friends are good but somehow not the same. Skin hunger in general can make me crazy.

I still use the mattress wedge turned lengthwise in bed just to have something to bump into at night. It's cold comfort but better than nothing  :-\

In my short time trying to recover, I get tricked into thinking things are starting to smooth out only to get knocked off course again. Describing the turmoil is like trying hold water in your hand. You feel it, you see it, you smell it and then it's gone. All we're left with is a weird dampness.

CherrY, I'm sorry about Jason. The shading on your tattoo is awesome. I never considered ink until after I lost DW and don't regret it one bit. Mine is a wrist tattoo and at least once a day I'll kiss it and think of her.

Yes I notice some friends have a sort of "Aw crap, guess we better speak" look when I bump into them. A few of the in-laws are distant, makes one wonder if they only put up with us out of family obligation.

I'm sorry you and family are facing this, prayers for all of you.

Yes, lots of things I would love to talk over. And don't get me started on losing close to 40 years of shared history and memories that I have no one to re-live them with <sigh>
