Guest TooSoon
This is the very same link I posted on ywbb in October 2013. I thought every widow would be enthralled by a story about widowhood and champagne, but only one person replied. It turned out That the one person who replied is also a widowed nerdy historian who likes champagne.....and now, more than two years later, we are sitting here on the sofa in Liverpool reminiscing about the bottles of Veuve Cliquot that we've enjoyed together in New York City, Philadelphia, and here in England. Maybe I should run out and get one now....
adp
adp here, writing from the self same couch in Liverpool. I can only concur that Veuve Cliquot is a great way to bring widows together. Cheers!
ieh21
This is a great story!! Thank you for sharing it. I love stories of women who break down barriers, and I love it even more when they include men who arent scared of supporting them.
calimom
I first read about The Widow Clicquot when I first joined ywbb, I think from Abbe. But adp and TooSoon, I think I like your story better! I hope you did get your hands on a bottle. And in related news, on the season premiere of Downtown Abbey, several bottles of Veuve were brought of from the cellar and popped open to celebrate good news.
