  1. I am finally able to return to the Emerald Isle with my Big Guy's ashes. Whenever we went on vacation, I always wanted to move wherever it was we went. He forever made fun of me for this. However, when we honeymooned in Ireland 2 months before his death, guess what? He wanted to move there. Ha ha. I vowed I would get him back no matter what. Sooo, I will cross the pond on April 8th and arrive on the 9th. I will be staying until the 16th. Shouting out to all U.K./Euro wids for a possible bago!!! I really have no real agenda, and what I do have planned, getting his ashes to Dunmore East, can be flexible.
  2. Not a parent, but what you have described, she's as comfortable with him as she is with you. She sees him as family, and well, kids get pissy with family. Shoot, we all do. I think it's perfectly normal. Just my humble opinion.
  3. I will be there . We are a bit crazy, but the good kind I promise!!!! I remember thinking I was nuts for going to my first bags. I was terrified! I mean come on, I was going to meet with strangers from the internet!!!!! It was the best thing I ever did, I promise!!! If you're new, please join us!!! I promise you won't regret it!!!
  4. Please PM me if you still need the addsress
  5. Just checking in to see if we can add anyone to the list..... Really looking forward to seeing everyone!! I have many chairs but not enough...If you all could bring some just in case
  6. Nuggets, always love your wisdom. I survived, and it was not completely horrible. Although it started off completely awkward, it ended on a positive note. It was very good to see my niece, and meet her new sweetheart. Can't believe I'm saying this, but I may make another drop off in a month or so.

  10. I have yet to muster up the courage to go to our favorite place...New Hope PA. It is a wonderful artsy fartsy town on the Delaware River filled with unique shops, galleries, and great bars and restaurants. He proposed to me there. Wonderful carriage ride with laughter and happy tears ;D... He's been gone for just over 5 years. Our last trip there was probably 8 years ago, and we had decided to give them a few years to recover as they had 3 devastating floods one right after the other just prior.... Kudos to you for putting your big girl panties on and doing it.... I hope to do the same soon.

  17. I am struggling.... My monster in law has been diagnosed with stage 4 liver and gallbladder...she has been given months....I have not seen or spoken to this monster since the memorial just over 5 years ago. My delema is my niece....poor thing has delt with more death than anyone else I know her age. She has just turned 22... It started with great aunt, great-grandfather, mother, great-grandmother, uncle (my big guy) all before she was 15. She is the sole caregiver as monster in laws sole remaining child is a bigger monster than she is. I have reached out to my niece as I know how hard caregiver job can be, and I want to bring her some homemade frozen dinners. She has suggested I go to monster in laws to deliver. I am so trying to put my big girl panties on and realize this about my niece and not monster in law....it's just hard.

  21. I remember being about 2 years out, a co worker who is rarely in the office congratulated me on my nuptuals...I probably looked like a deer in headlights as I said thanks, and ran out of the ladies room. I had gotten used to the head tilt and how are you doing. I wasn't prepared for that. She meant well, and didn't know. It still stung.
