I'm sorry! I know that hurts, especially when she gives no reason for her retreating from your friendship. Maybe she IS busy or maybe she thinks you have both grown apart and has found another friendship. If she won't be forthcoming, I'd just back away and nurture other new and old relationships. You've done all you can....the ball is now in her court. Still, though, I'm sorry you're hurting.

I'm glad you'll be seated next to someone you have met before. She sounds like a nice lady and with your sweet, bubbly personality, the two of you will probably be whooping it up with the others before the night ends. Good luck! I hope you have an awesome time! ;D

Oh, I'm so very sorry! You and Pru are definitely in my prayers. Those sweet fur babies are such a bundle of joy and unconditional love that when they are ready to leave us, it's such a tremendous loss. (((Big hugs!)))

Oh my gosh CBB! You can definitely let it all out here. This wonderful site is a safe place that you can let it all out and be understood. You don't have to pretend its okay when its not. If I didn't have the former YWBB to help express my grief, in all of its stages, I don't know if I would have made it. Fortunately, many of its former members along with many new widows/widowers have found their way here. Please keep posting and know we really care and understand. ((((Big hugs!))))

Hi Swimmer! I'm glad you made it here and posted! It's great to hear that your sons are doing really well after some challenges early on. I'm also thrilled to hear of your sweet new granddaughter, but am sorry about the nightmare of your daughter-in-law. I hope things improve with her. Overall though, it sounds like 99% is a really positive thing.....I'm really happy for you! I have also become a grandmother to a precious grandson who shares his middle name with my late husband. It has taken quite some time, but I've found my life has also become more joyful. Although I sometimes still long for the past and am not as familiar with my new life, I'm definitely having good days again. Since the abrupt shutting down of the YWBB, I'm extremely grateful to the founders of this new site. I don't know how I would have survived without my daily fix back in those dark days and years. I'm also thankful to Canadian girl for directing me here when all the changes occurred in the spring. Although I have read from time to time, I have not posted until now. At times, I don't feel I have much to add and other times life is just super busy. However, I have extreme respect, admiration, and appreciation for the founders of this site for their hard work in providing a safe place for widows and widowers to share in their grief. ;D Cathy
