  4. oh I so understand loving a redone house don and I ,like you and you husband ,ripped this place down and built it back up I see him and us in every window trim, wood floor ,painted wall... etc I remember ,as I am sure you do, the fun and laughter (and f' bomb's) during those times I am able to stay here for now but know at some time I will have to sell her , it will be heartbreaking for you but sounds like the best move for you and your kids and yes right now all the choices we have to make are so hard especially the right choices Good luck with the Realtor and hope you get what you need to help ease in the decision
  5. Ill probably be there closer to one as I take care of my mom overnight on Saturday and don't get coverage till noon the next day
  6. I second Maureen's advise get the support where you can, like here and do not beat your self up for trying to get through another awful day you had good intentions with taking your wife's parents feelings in when yours are so raw plus no matter what other people say you knew your wife and you knew what you wanted in your heart to do to honor her take a breath and take care
  7. I have been there a few times and right when its time to get er done .. I don't I try and think of it as I wasn't fully ready to conquer that project and if you ever second guess yourself I think that's when the accidents happen (yes insert all images of stitches , ER visits etc) like klim said I either re approached when feeling more confident (or goggling it ) or knew it was something I just wasn't ready to do so do not be disappointed in yourself , this isn't easy stuff we have to do
  8. what an emotional day for you filled with Highs and lows , thanks for sharing and giving the rest of us strength for when we approach these difficult days take care
  9. great post and I could fill pages and pages with wonderful Memories Sunday drives to nowhere , Car shows on sundays working on our Home together and all the laughter involved Me cooking on sundays as he was upstairs tying fly's for fishing I loved that in the warm weather we would just sit in our favorite spot when the day was winding down just sit and talk ... I could go on and on like Maureen said ....Damn I miss him

  11. so sorry to hear about your goat , the animals that are the most pains in the butt are sometimes the most missed take care
  12. good for you ! sounds like you have a good attitude about getting healthier the only thing that gets me to exercise is my black lab waiting by the door (no matter what the weather ) and wanting to go for a walk so if you ever lose motivation ..get a dog , helps a lot
  13. I rented a house on the lake for that weekend it was in august and on the official day I made sure, for me ,to be alone and sitting by the lake I didn't want to have to put on a brave face for that day the tears will come but I hope whatever you decide to do you have a few minutes of remembering your wife take care ,

What a great story and I hope it brought back a great memory Keep those stories coming I also lost my don suddenly and we had been together 27 years and no kids Coming home to a quiet house is really hard so I leave either the tv or radio on Plus some amazing fellow supporters here suggested timers on lamps so you don't have to walk into a dark House I am so sorry you have to be here but glad you found us
