HoldingOn
My Heart is Broken ~Evanescence... "My Heart Is Broken" I will wander 'til the end of time, torn away from you. I pulled away to face the pain. I close my eyes and drift away. Over the fear that I will never find A way to heal my soul. And I will wander 'til the end of time Torn away from you. My heart is broken Sweet sleep, my dark angel Deliver us from sorrow's hold (Over my heart). I can't go on living this way But I can't go back the way I came Chained to this fear that I will never find A way to heal my soul And I will wander 'til the end of time Half alive without you My heart is broken Sweet sleep, my dark angel Deliver us Change - open your eyes to the light I denied it all so long, oh so long Say goodbye, goodbye My heart is broken Release me, I can't hold on Deliver us My heart is broken Sweet sleep, my dark angel Deliver us My heart is broken Sweet sleep, my dark angel Deliver us from sorrow's hold

Alexsander
Even the nights are better (Air Supply). We both had sad divorces from cheaters. The lyrics are right on the spot. "I used to think I was tied to a heartache That was the heartbreak, but now that I've found you (...) You, you knew just what to do 'Cause you had been lonely too And you showed me how To ease the pain and You did more than mend a broken heart 'Cause now you've made a fire start" There are others that make me cry but this one was OUR song. Gabzmom
These two: Alison Krauss - When You Say Nothing At All Garth Brooks - To Make You Feel My Love http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x24mbmq_garth-brooks-to-make-you-feel-my-love_music The crazy thing is I was on a business trip and played these songs on the phone for him a few days before he died. I told him these two songs by these two artists made me think of him and how much I loved him.

Catnip
Now and Forever -Carole King Now and forever, you are a part of me And the memory cuts like a knife Didn't we find the ecstasy, didn't we share the daylight When you walked into my life Now and forever, I'll remember All the promises still unbroken And think about all the words between us That never needed to be spoken We had a moment, just one moment That will last beyond a dream, beyond a lifetime We are the lucky ones Some people never get to do all we got to do Now and forever, I will always think of you Didn't we come together, didn't we live together Didn't we cry together Didn't we play together, didn't we love together And together we lit up the world I miss the tears, I miss the laughter I miss the day we met and all that followed after Sometimes I wish I could always be with you The way we used to do Now and forever, I will always think of you Now and forever, I will always be with you

MrsT85
https://youtu.be/c7_Te7iDojA. I watched this one the Friday of the week David Bowie died and ended up sobbing so hard I had trouble breathing. I had to pause it midway through and run into another room because of how badly I was hyperventilating. DH and I both loved Bowie and NIN - they were two of our very favorites. So of course, I was thinking about Tim the whole time I in addition to Bowie. Tim actually got to see that tour and would often (lovingly) torture me with the fact, since I was only 10 years old at the time while he was 18. And it didn't help the matter that his urn is on a bookshelf next to the TV, so I could keep looking back and forth between two dead men who I loved very dearly (albeit in totally different ways obviously). Guest TooSoon
My grief anthem will forever be Phosphorescent's Song for Zula ( ). Its been a few years for me now but i heard this just after my husband died of brain cancer after two very ugly years from diagnosis to death and it will always be "that" song for me, the one that can remind me of the horrific pain and confusion I was in once he died. I did race out on desert plains all night trying to keep him alive and then survive with a child to raise and a career while no one understood why I seemed like a caged animal. This song covered it all for me. I've always turned to music as a source of comfort and strength since I was a little kid but this song nearly did me in at the time. The irony, three years down the line, is that I did "open myself that way again"....
Karin
"I Miss My Friend" by Darryl Worley Based on lyrics alone, it's unclear if this is about a break-up or something more permanent . . . . . but the message of the video is clear.

canadiangirl
I don't listen to a lot of country music, but I loved this apropos simple and beautiful little gem from Willie Nelson and Loretta Lynn called "Lay Me Down": http://rare.us/story/loretta-lynn-and-willie-nelson-just-released-a-breathtaking-video-that-every-true-country-fan-must-see/
SoVerySad
Having a really tough night tonight missing T terribly. When I feel so drenched in this pain, it reminds me how much I owe him for all the love and joy he brought into my life. His void has left me quite shattered, but oh how blessed I was to have been so loved and supported. This song helps me try to remember that... I miss you so much T. Thank you for all the love and happiness you brought to my life.

ScorpioGirl
This was the last song my husband learned to play on his guitar.....he was an amazing guitar player. Also the song he chose to have when we carried his casket out. I have never heard it until last week when I was in town at a shop when it came on. I froze, had to dump my shopping and run to the car.
